GRINNAQUA press release on Advancing the welfare of cultured fish

Our project is proud to announce the release of a new article on Hatchery Feed & Management, titled “European Project Discusses the Animal Welfare Status of Cultured Fish”. This publication highlights the collaborative work being done to address animal welfare in aquaculture, a key focus in GRINNAQUA.

The article showcases insights from our 3rd workshop, on “Animal health and welfare”, emphasizing the importance of welfare standards in the sustainable growth of the aquaculture industry. Both academia and industry, from aquaculture practitioners to feed producers were in involved in the discussion, which includes topics such us the physiological and behavioral needs of cultured fish and innovative approaches to enhancing welfare practices.
