Carolina Tafalla

Principal Investigator at the Animal Health Research Center (CISA-INIA-CSIC)

She is a Principal Investigator at the Animal Health Research Center
(CISA-INIA-CSIC) where she leads the Fish Immunology and Pathology
group. Her main focus throughout her career has been understanding
how fish organize immune responses to pathogens and vaccines, with
a special focus on B cells.

Patrcia Díaz Rosales

Researcher at the Animal Health Research Center (CISA-INIA-CSIC)

The improvement of cultured fish production has been the goal of her research, focusing on studying the fish immune response, investigating methods to improve it, allowing fish to cope with infections. Her main line of research in the past years has been exploring the use of functional ingredients as potential adjuvants in oral vaccines.

Øystein Evensen

Research group leader at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences

Works on host-pathogen interactions with a particular focus on viral infections in salmonids, with an aim to translate the cross-talk between the host and the pathogen into preventative measures and early stage vaccine development.

Niels Lorenzen

Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Aqua)

He is educated as biologist and employed as professor at the Technical
University of Denmark, National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU
Aqua). His key research focus is on host-pathogen interactions in fish
with emphasis on understanding of protective immunity and vaccine
development.

Kim Thompson

Principal Investigator at Moredun Research Institute

She is a Principal Investigator at Moredun Research Institute, where she heads the Aquaculture Research Group. She has over 30 years of experience in fish immunology, vaccine development, functional feeds, disease resistance of fish, and host-pathogen interactions and has published +200 articles relating to this work.

Ansgar Stratmann

Biotechnology Director at Aquatreck Animal Health SL

Spanish-German company for fish vaccines. He is specialized in the production of recombinant vaccines in Pichia pastoris

Rosa Merino

Biologist with over 13 years of experience

She first ran a small lab near Glasgow, Scotland, specializing in salmon readiness analyses for sea water transfer and salmonid pathogen identification. In 2017 she joined HIPRA, as part of its Aquaculture Unit, focused on disease prevention. As Global Technical Manager she has gained a broad perspective and field experience, understanding and dealing with the idiosyncrasies of several farmed fish species around the world.

Thank you all!
