We’re pleased to share that Benjamin Costas, our project coordinator, has been invited to co-chair the “Welfare” session at Aquaculture Europe 2025 (AE2025). He will be joined by Professor Juan Miguel Mancera of the University of Cádiz in leading this important session, focusing on the central role of welfare in sustainable aquaculture.

AE2025 will take place from 22–25 September in Valencia, Spain, under the theme “Aquaculture for All.” Organized by our partner, Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), with support from both national and regional authorities, the conference will bring together stakeholders from across the aquaculture landscape to explore innovation, environmental responsibility, and global food security.

The “Welfare” session will highlight how ensuring the health and well-being of aquatic species supports not only ethical standards, but also enhances productivity, disease resilience, and overall system sustainability.

Researchers and professionals are encouraged to submit their abstracts for this session by 1 May 2025. With a forward-thinking agenda and international reach, AE2025 promises to be a cornerstone event for building a more responsible and inclusive future for aquaculture.
